Ypsilanti approves $10.3 million more for Water Street.

(October 3, 2006) Ypsilanti Council moves forward with the Washtenaw County Brownfield designation and authorizes another $10.3 million in taxpayer money for the Water Street project. Current taxpayer funds expended and committed on Water Street total about $34 million for a project that originally was projected to cost between $3 and 5 million.

City Council re-approves the Planned Unit Development (PUD) for Penn Park apartments because it was not done correctly the first time.

Council approves spending $100,000 for new park equipment in Riverside. Council agrees to not require the river walk path along the Penn Park apartments which they originally required the developer to install.
