A Ford Ranger crashed into a house on South Huron Street.

(December 23, 2007) Ypsilanti police responded to a two vehicle car crash on the corner of Buffalo and South Huron Street in Ypsilanti’s Historic Southside around 8pm Sunday. When officers arrived they found a Ford Ranger pickup truck had crashed into the house at 320 South Huron Street. A second Honda minivan had a smashed front end and was parked against the curb on South Huron.

It appears that the Honda rear ended the Ranger forcing it off the road and into the house. The house is a multi-unit apartment. The unit that was hit was vacant and no one was injured. Both air bags had deployed on the Ford Ranger.

Police suspect the two cars were chasing each other. Drug paraphernalia was found in Ford Ranger. None of the occupants from either vehicle were at the scene. Witnesses reported at least three and possibly four individuals were in the pickup and perhaps two were in the Honda. All of the occupants fled into the neighborhood.
