Windy City Snaps Sliders Five Game Win Streak

Minor league baseball is coming to Ypsilanti in 2009

The Windy City Thunderbolts belted 17 hits on way to trouncing the Midwest Sliders 15-4. Chris Rollins suffered his first loss for the Sliders allowing seven runs but only five were earned.

Dustin Pease picks up his second win going 5 1/3 with six strikeouts and two earned runs. The loss ends the Sliders five game winning streak.

The Thunderbolts dominated scoring in every inning but the sixth, while the Sliders scratched four runs off nine hits. Jimmy Baker hit his third home run of the season while he went 3-4 with two RBI’s for Midwest.

Saturday’s game drops the Midwest Sliders to 6-3 but are still tied for first in the East Division. James Albury starts for the Sliders on Sunday tomorrow against Ross Strout in the series rubber match at 2:05 p.m. at EMU’s Oestrike Stadium.
